Sergio García Junior Championship

Conditions

Any amateur player, born in 2005 and later, in possession of a National Federation or Union Membership Card, with an exact handicap of 11.4 or better, is eligible to enter. The exact handicap certified at the date of entry will be used for all purposes.

An entry will be accepted from any player who has been R&A WAG Ranked 1-1500 (see www.randa.org/wagr) at the closing date of entries.

All entries will be subject to the approval of the Championship Committee which reserves the right to accept or refuse, or having accepted, subsequently reject any entry without giving reason for its decision.

The starting field will comprise 90 competitors (54 male players and 36 female players) according to the following distribution:

  • 27 male and 18 female players selected from conditions 1 & 2 below.
  • 27 male and 18 female players from conditions 3 & 4 below.

1.- Registered players, by order of WAG Ranking (positions 1-1500 at closing date of registration)

2.- Registered players by exact handicap order.

3.- 12 male and 10 female registered players of Spanish nationality not included in between the registered players in conditions 1 & 2. Places will be covered firstly by Spanish nationality players in order of WAG Ranking (1-2000 at closing date of entries) and secondly by exact handicap order.

4.- 12 male and 5 female invited players by Sergio Garcia Golf Academy.

5.- 3 male and 3 female invited players by Valencian Golf Federation.

Unsuccessful entrants will be informed immediately after the Closing Date and will be placed on a Reserve List and given the opportunity to compete if there are subsequent withdrawals.

If, for any reason, a competitor is unable to participate, he must communicate this by email info@sggolfacademy.com before 12:00 hours the day prior to the start of the championship. Any player who fails to follow this procedure risks having his entry refused for future Championships.

Competitors must register at the Tournament Office before 14:00 hours on October 05th   2023. Place may be forfeited by a competitor from whom no word has been received by the above date.

Format and Tee boxes

Tournament will be played in accordance with the Golf Rules approved by the Royal Spanish Golf Federation, the Generic Conditions of the RFEG, the RFEG Terms of Competition and Local Rules and the Local Rules approved by the Test Committee for the championship.

Scratch Stroke-play in three consecutive days.

Buggies: Forbidden

Caddies: Forbidden

Distance meters: Permitted

Tee boxes from those stipulated by the Championship Committee.

Entries

Entries should be submitted Online at Sergio Garcia Golf Academy website(www.sggolfacademy.com). Entry fee must be paid online before September 29th  2023. Entry fee: 200€. (The entry fee includes: 1 Adidas hat, 1 Adidas polo, 1 dozen Taylor Made balls, 1 tournament towel, 1 practice round, 3 competition rounds, water and fruit for the competition rounds).

Reward

Both winners, male and female, will have their names inscribed on the tournament trophy and will receive a replica of the trophy. Also, they will receive an invitation to a AJGA Tournament in USA in 2024
