Tanto jugadores profesionales como aficionados están expuestos a problemas físicos, especialmente en la espalda, los hombros o las muñecas. La buena noticia es que muchas de estas molestias pueden prevenirse con hábitos adecuados. Aquí te dejamos cinco consejos fundamentales para disfrutar del golf con seguridad y sin dolor.

1. Calienta antes de empezar a jugar

Saltarse el calentamiento es uno de los errores más comunes entre golfistas de todos los niveles. Un buen calentamiento activa el cuerpo, mejora la movilidad articular y prepara los músculos para el movimiento del swing, reduciendo el riesgo de lesiones. Dedica al menos 10 minutos a estiramientos dinámicos y ejercicios de movilidad específicos para el golf, como rotaciones de tronco, activación de glúteos o swings suaves con hierros cortos​.

2. Trabaja tu movilidad y fuerza

Un cuerpo rígido o sin fuerza no puede ejecutar un swing eficiente ni seguro. El golf requiere una combinación única de estabilidad, control, equilibrio y potencia, especialmente en la zona media (core) y en la cadera. Añadir a tu rutina ejercicios de movilidad articular, fuerza funcional y trabajo de rotación controlada no solo mejorará tu rendimiento, sino que te protegerá de sobrecargas crónicas.

Dolor no es lo mismo que molestia. Si sientes dolor persistente en alguna zona, especialmente en la espalda baja, hombros o codos, lo más sensato es detenerte y consultar a un profesional. Muchas lesiones en el golf derivan de insistir en movimientos cuando el cuerpo ya está avisando. Respetar los tiempos de descanso y evitar forzar cuando estamos fatigados es esencial para evitar lesiones por sobreuso.

4. Mejora tu técnica con ayuda profesional

Una mala técnica, especialmente en el swing, puede ser una de las principales causas de lesión. Gestos repetitivos como una rotación excesiva de la columna lumbar o un agarre demasiado tenso terminan generando problemas. Contar con la supervisión de un instructor cualificado te ayudará a identificar malos hábitos y corregirlos a tiempo. Además, una técnica eficiente no solo previene lesiones, también mejora tus resultados en el campo​.

5. No olvides cuidar tu recuperación

Tan importante como calentar es recuperarte después de jugar. Estiramientos suaves al finalizar la ronda, hidratación adecuada, buena alimentación y descanso son claves para mantener el cuerpo en forma y prevenir sobrecargas. Si juegas o entrenas varios días a la semana, considera incluir sesiones de movilidad, automasaje o incluso técnicas de relajación para reducir el estrés muscular y mental​.
